Okay… So, here’s the scoop…
First looks: should you do it? My one and only answer to this will always be YES. First off, what is a first look? A first look is the moment during the Wedding Day where the Bride & Groom see each other for the very first time. The first look typically happens before the ceremony, in a more private setting.
A lot of emotions happen during the wedding day. I mean, c’mon! You’re getting married! People get excited, ecstatic, and extremely nervous! That’s what I love about first looks: it helps you calm your nerves! I don’t know about you, but when I’m with my hunny, my nerves are significantly calmer. Just spending a moment together with each other can make a significant difference in your mood!
Speaking of spending a moment together—your wedding day goes by in a blur. You spend months and years planning a day only for it to go by in a blink of an eye. My absolute most favorite about having a first look? It allows for you and your hunny to just be in the moment. You can (and you will) spend a whole day with your friends and your family, but how much of the day will be spent with your new husband/wife? I’ll say it again: you’re getting married! Spend as much of the day as you can with your significant other and enjoy the moment.
As much as I want to capture your day and bring back all the emotions and the giddiness that you feel from the day, there’s absolutely nothing better than being present in the moment. There is nothing better than feeling the raw and unfiltered emotions during the moment.
First looks break tradition and it’s definitely not for everyone, which is understandable. A groom’s reaction to seeing his bride for the very first time will be priceless no matter how it’s done. With or without a first look, your wedding day will still be as amazing as you have planned it out to be, you will still go through the rollercoaster of emotions, and you will still enjoy your special day! I look forward to photographing your wedding day soon!
Until Next Time!
XO,
Justine Grace
